WeThe last week of February is the National Eating Disorders Awareness Week in the United States. Eating Disorders are mental disorders defined by abnormal eating habits that have a negative impact on a person’s body and mind. Research indicates that there are significant genetic contributions to eating disorders, in addition to psychological ones. Low self-esteem, feelings of inadequacy or lack of control in life, depression, anxiety, anger, stress, and loneliness, all contribute to these unbecoming eating habits. The most common eating disorders include Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa (usually called simply Anorexia and Bulimia). However, food-related disorders like restrictive food intake disorder, binge eating, body image disorders and food phobias are becoming increasingly common.

The dynamics of workspaces have been changing dramatically over the past few years. There has been an acceptance of emotions, making the work environment a more positive space. In the year 2010, the sick note was replaced by a ‘fit note’, a certification which allowed employees to return to work soon after an illness, physical or mental. This had a positive impact on the all-over growth of the company and of the working individuals. Since being away from work for too long is also considered bad for your health, the fit note is a step towards mental wellbeing.

We don’t have to wait for someone to love us, instead we can be the first to initiate and give love from our end. And the first person with whom you start is You.

Of the many people we come across in our lives, including our families and friends, there is one person with whom we end up spending the maximum time in our lives - our Life Partner. The relationship between a husband and a wife is ideally lifelong - something that today most people consider disputable. Few would agree when you’d say a couple can live happily together forever. However, does it get more difficult when your partner has a lifelong disease?
